NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H or 1-6C alkyl; R<2> is 2-6C alkyl) and acid-addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:4,5-Trans-5-( 2-methyl-1-propene-1-yl )-4-propylamino-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro benz[cd]indole. USE:Remedy for Parkinsons syndrome and Huntingston's chorea and prolactin secretion-inhibiting agent or the like. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II is dissolved in an inert solvent such as methylene chloride, etc., and a reactive functional derivative of a compound expressed by formula III (R<3> is 1-5C alkyl) and a base (e.g. triethylamine) are added to the solution and the mixture is reacted at room temperature for 1-3hr to provide a compound expressed by formula IV, which is then dissolved in an inert solvent (e.g. THF) and LiAlH4 is added to the solution and heated while refluxing for 5-50hr to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula I.
