<p>A device (64, 66, 68, 70) for exercising a living hinge (14) of an article and/or closing a lid (10) of a cap (12) while the article or cap is in a mold for forming the article or cap. The device includes a finger (78) which slides between the mold sections, and, in the process, engages a portion of the article or the lid (10), rotates the portion or lid (10) about the hinge (14), and in the case of the cap, snaps the lid shut. In an alternate preferred embodiment, when the finger (120) reaches a predetermined point it pivots toward the female mold section to snap the lid (10) tightly shut.</p> |
