PURPOSE:To measure strength of pellets by transmitting an ultrasonic wave onto the pellets in granulating and receiving the wave generating from the pellets. CONSTITUTION:By a briquet machine type granulator, the raw material powders 8 supplying from the (a) side in the arrow are precompressed by a screw feeder 2 and are sent pressurized to compression molding rollers 3, 4 and then the powders 8 are compressed between the pockets 5, 6 of a granulating position 7 at the molding rollers 3, 4 to mold pellets 9. The ultrasonic waves are transmitted from an oscillator 10 for transmission to the pellets 9 in the granulating process and the waves passing through the pellets 9 are recieved by an oscillator 11 for reception and are transmitted to an arithmetic device 19 after converting into electric signals. The signal amplitude of the ultrasonic waves passing through the pellets 9 corresponds to the strength of the pellets and therefore the strength of the granulating pellets is measured with on-line. |
