Liq. density regulator using position transducer - has buoyancy body density sensor with pivot remote from centre of gravity

The arrangement is for regulating the density of liquids and is applicable to electrolyte in fuel cells. A buoyancy body (8) is fully immersed in the liquid. Its buoyancy force corresponds to the desired density. The position of the body is measured and the density regulated accordingly. The arrangement is improved w.r.t. similar ones to achieve very high accuracy, relative simplicity and compactness. Buoyancy and downward forces are applied to the body by virtue of a pivot remote from its centre of gravity. Its longitudinal axis (8) is horizontal when in the desired position. The buoyancy body (8) has a point support and its pivotal motion is limited by stops (13,92) which are pref. adjustable. The demand position of the body is detected by an inductive proximity detector (4).
