PURPOSE:To enable the simple and reliable measurement of a thickness of a thin, long-sized cylinder, by utilizing contact probes which are mounted at leaf springs each equipped with a strain meter, and are located facing and opposite to each other, making contact with an inner and an outer periphery of an object to be measured. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of contact probes, which are positioned facing and opposite to each other, making contact with an inner and an outer periphery of an object to be measured, are secured to their respective ends of leaf springs each equipped with a strain meter through the medium of a support member, and the other end of the leaf spring is coupled to a member, which can move in the axial direction, through the medium of an arm material which can elongate in the longitudinal direction of the object to be measured to perform the measurement of the thickness of the object to be measured from the value of the strain meter. For example, a pair of contact probes 8, making contact with an inner and an outer periphery of a cylinder 12 to be measured being supported by a retainer 18, are securely attached to leaf springs 7 each provided with a strain meter 10 through a retainer 8, the other end of the leaf spring is coupled to a nut member 4 through an arm material 6, and the nut member and a ball screw shaft 1 are connected together so that said nut member can move along an axial direction of the sample through the rotation of the shaft 1 using a handle 5. |
