<p>A process for separating off recoverable metals from a material which contains the recoverable metals comprises repeated contacting of a molten slag containing the recoverable metal with molten collector metals. Between the contactings, the slag is maintained in the molten state in order to avoid renewed melting of the slag. The process can also comprise a slag separation from the collector metal at points on or close by the interface between the molten slag and the collector metal, in order thus to promote intimate contacting of the slag with the collector metal at the take-off points. Equipment for carrying out the process is provided and comprises preferably two electric furnaces (10, 12), between which molten slag (22, 22'; 44) and collector metals (20, 20'; 42) are transferred, these furnaces preferably being furnaces provided with plasma guns (14, 14'). <IMAGE></p> |
