<p>NEW MATERIAL:A tripeptide expressed by the formula A-Pro-B-C-D (A is H, benzoyl, etc.; Pro is N-proline residue which is an N-terminated amino acid residue; B is L-leucine, L-phenylalanine residue, etc.; C is glycine or sarcosine residue; D is pyrrolidine residue) and a derivative thereof. EXAMPLE:Bz-Pro-Tyr-Gly-Pyrr. USE:Useful for the treatment of diseases, e.g. atherosclerosis, hepatocirrhosis or scleriasis, including fibrosis in internal organs causing the excessive accumulation of collagen, and having the synthetic inhibitory action of collagen in cells. PROCESS:After protecting amino or carboxyl groups taking no part in the condensation reaction, a partial peptide constituting a part of the amino acid sequence in the aimed peptide and a partial peptide or amino acid constituting the rest are condensed by the acid chloride method, and the protecting group is removed to give the aimed tripeptide.</p> |
