PURPOSE:A composition for the oral cavity, containing a natrual addtive consisting of an organic oslvent extract of a plant selected from senega (Polygala senega L.), Hamamelis virginiana L., Potentialla recta L. and marsh mallow (Althaea officinalis), capable of suppressing the formation of sordes on a tooth and preventing the dental caries and periodontosis. CONSTITUTION:A composition for the oral cavity containing one or two or more extracts of a plant selected from the group consisting of senega (Polygala senega L.), Hamamelis virginiana L., Potentilla recta L. and marsh mallow (Althaea officinalis) mainly growing in Europe with an organic solvent, e.g. a lower alcohol, acetone or benzene, and usable for a dentifrice, mouthwash, torche, pasta, coating agent, chewing gum or tablet for gargling, etc. The amount of the extract with the organic solvent is 0.001-5wt%, preferably 0.01-2wt%, based on the total weight of the composition for the oral cavity. |
