Title compds. (I; A = trimethylene or trans-l-propenylene) are produced from Streptomyces lavendulae ATCC 31279. Thus, the microbe was aerobically cultured at 30≦̸C for 72 hr on a medium contg. potato starch 2, gluten soup 1, corn steep liquor 1, dried yeast 1, KH2PO4 1, and K2HPO412H2O 1. The culture was filtered, and the filtrate(15L) was mixed activated C, stirred for 30 min, and filtered. The filtrate was worked up by column chlomatog. to yield 50mg mono K salt of FR31705.
