Use of hot 75-80% aq. soln. of urea obtd. during the prodn. of urea permits elimination of the steps of isolating urea from this soln. and redissolving it in an org. solvent (as in the known process). Pref. fatty acids includes acidified soapstock and hydrolysed fish oil. The adduct is used as a fodder additive for ruminants. It can also be formed intermediately to separate various fatty acids and protect them against oxidn. |
