<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a framework of a packed chamber from being deformed and simplify the construction by a method wherein vertical support columns and beams connecting the columns to each other which constitute the framework of adsorbent packed chambers are provided with passages for a coolant, and a cooling fluid is passed through the passages. CONSTITUTION:A rotary cylindrical cage 1 is fixed on a turntable rotating the gas- treating device around a vertical axis, a plurality of annular-shaped adsorbent packed chambers 2 and provided at the outside peripheral surface of the cage 1, and the cage 1 is rotated so that each of the packed chambers 2 is sequentially positioned in an adsorbing zone A and a desorbing zone B. The packed chambers are provided with spacings 10, 10' in the circumferential direction on the inner periphery side and the outer periphery side, and inside vertical support columns 11 and outside vertical support columns 12 are provided respectively in the spacings 10 and 10'. Each adjacent pair of the vertical support columns are connected by the beams 13, 14, both in the circumferential direction and in the radial direction. The support columns and the beams are provided with hollow passages for a coolant, and the cooling fluid is forcibly passed through the passages by feeding the fluid from nozzles 20 and it is discharged via discharge ports 21, thereby cooling the suport columns 11, 12 and the beams 13, 14 to prevent them from expanding.</p> |
