PURPOSE:To make it possible to miniaturize and thin a coil by a method wherein a paste of a heat-resisting insulating material having a conductive material in its central part is extruded to form a coil and the resulting coil is baked. CONSTITUTION:An organic plastic agent such as methyl cellulose as well as an appropriate amount of a solvent are blended with a powder of alumina or ferrite to make a paste and formed to a continuous hollow cylinder by extrusion molding to constitute an insulating body 1. A conductive body 2 made of glass frit, an organic plastic agent and silver or the like is poured into the hollow part of the insulating body 1 to form a composition 10 as a whole. The composition 10 is loaded onto an extrusion gun 4 and extruded from the nozzle of the gun 4 in a threadlike style to form a coil 3. The coil is cut down at a fixed number of turns according to a design specification. With this fabrication, an inner conductive body 2 is exposed at a cross section. Then, an external terminal is fitted to the inner conductive body 2 after baking to produce a chip coil. Further, it can be molded into a desired shape before baking if needed. |
