<p>PURPOSE:To improve a printing quality without increasing a character memory, by a method wherein a thermal head consists of a plural number of triangular subsegments, and the segment to be driven is instructed by a signal generating part placed in front of a drive circuit. CONSTITUTION:16 segments 104 are arranged in a lateral manner, and 16 signal lines from a character memory are inputted to a signal generating circuit 103 to actuate a drive circuit 103 to actuate a drive circuit 102 with 64 outputs. 8 dot patterns positioned around a dot to be actually printed determines which segment 105 to be driven. This permits the neat formation of oblique lines.</p> |
