PURPOSE:To prevent blooming smear, without fixed pattern noise between bit lines, by transferring charges of vertical bit lines to a charge absorber, while a horizontal shift register transfers signal charges. CONSTITUTION:A scanning pulse is applied to the N-row-th vertical scanning pulse input line 4, during horizontal luminance blanking period, and vertical MOS switching transistors (TRs)5 included in the row are all conductive, signal charges stored in a photo diode 6 flow to a bit line 7 and also a horizontal shift register 47 with transfer pulse applied to a terminal 37 and is fed to a charge detection section 48 sequentially. During the horizontal effective scanning period, a TR25 is non-conductive, a bit line reset pulse is applied to a terminal 36, and unnecessary charges generated with smear and blooming on the bit line are picked up externally from a charge absorbing drain 39 of a bit line reset TR24. |
