PURPOSE:To detect sodium water reaction very quickly by measuring the rate of increase in pressure in cover gas spaces. CONSTITUTION:When plant trip occurs, the cover gas space 1a in an evaporator 1, the cover gas space 2a in an overheating device 2, the cover gas space 3a of a circulating pump 3, the cover gas space 4a of an overflow column 4, and the cover gas space 5 of an overflow tank 5 are communicated by gas paths 10, 11, 12, and 18. The increase in pressure of the cover gas in the spaces after the plant trip has occurred is caused only by the sodium water reacting phenomenon. The water leak can be detected very quickly by measuring the rate of increase in the pressure after the pressure of the cover gas is settled at the time of the plant trip. The rate of pressure increase varies width with the magnitude of the water leak. If the rate has exceeded a preset reference rate of pressure increases, the warning signal is issued. |
