PURPOSE:To achieve great compacting and long-period stable information recording by recording sound information successively as blocks, and by selectively reproducing it by using the page numbers of the blocks. CONSTITUTION:In recording mode, a controller 13, every time sound information is inputted to a semiconductor memory 12, digitizes it as one block and stores the resulting information together with a page number. In the main memory 12a of the memory 12, the sound information is recorded from a starting address in the order of recording. In the auxiliary memory 12b stored with the page numbers, the starting address and ending address of the sound information recorded in the memory 12a corresponding to the page numbers are written. In reproduction mode, the controller 13 decodes an input page number to retrieve a corresponding page in the memory 12b and reads address data from an area which corresponds to the page. The desired read information is passed through an A/D converter 14 to be sounded through a speaker or earphone. |
