摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifying type solid-state image-pickup device which compensates for the effects of the dispersion of threshold voltage in an amplifying transistor in a pixel, even if it occurs, by accurately reads a signal from the pixel at high speed. SOLUTION: This image-pickup device is provided with a photodiode 21 moving to a second potential state, corresponding to the quantity of incident light from a first potential state (reset state) and a compensation circuit for reading information corresponding to the potential state. The compensation circuit is provided with a first accumulation element 31 for accumulating the positive charge and the negative charge of quantity corresponding to the second potential state of the photodiode 21 and a second accumulation element 32 accumulating the positive charge and the negative charge of quantity corresponding to the first potential state, and it contains a switching element SW5 for mixing the negative charge accumulated in the second accumulation element 32 with the positive charge accumulated in the first accumulation element 31. Thus, a signal which is not affected by the dispersion in characteristics of an amplifying transistor 23 can be reproduced by generating a signal which corresponds to the quantity of the mixed charges.
