PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding material with superior wear and load resistances by spraying a Cu alloy having a specified composition on a metallic substrate. CONSTITUTION:Powder of an alloy consisting of 3-5wt% Fe, 4-6wt% Mn and the balance Cu is sprayed on a metallic substrate of steel or the like to form a coat. Since the grain size of the alloy powder exerts influence on the density, surface finish roughness, wear and load resistances of the sprayed coat, it is preferable that the grain size is reduced. This sliding material is proved to be superior to all of a high tensile brass casting, cast iron, the sintered alloy of said Cu alloy and a brass powder sprayed material from results obtd. by measuring the wear sizes using machine structural carbon steel as the opposite material under 50 and 80kg/cm<2> surface pressures under the conditions of 120 cycle/min reciprocative sliding and 10 cycle friction. |
