PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a preventing member for the leakage of single-component magnetic toner, by providing a part free of unevenness at the end part of a developing sleeve which has fine unevenness on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A developing device which uses single-component magnetic toner is provided with a toner leakage preventing member 5, made of felt, at the end part of a developing sleeve 2. The felt-noncontacting part of the surface of the developing sleeve is roughened by a sand blast treatment or provided with a lateral hairline with sand paper. The felt-contacting part, on the other hand, is left smooth as it is without the sand blast treatment, but when the sleeve surface is provided with the hairline, a circumferential hairline is provided while the lateral hairline is eliminated. |
