Energy systems which are now widespread have the characteristic that electrical installations and transformers having increasing unit power are used. The magnitude of the unit powers is determined by the mass and dimensions of the installations which can be supplied. The measures which were used in the past to increase the unit powers, specifically the incorporation of relatively large masses or the increased requirements, were to the detriment of the operating reliability. The invention offers a solution for increasing the unit powers which has no adverse effect at all on reliability. The transformer structure according to the invention is dismantled, in each case one unit, with the winding and the fluid insulating material, together with a part of the iron core, being arranged in a separate tank. During assembly, these are expediently connected, as a result of which the transformer with the split design can be assembled in each case into a larger unit. <IMAGE>
