PURPOSE:To alter the diameter of tuyrene to suppress the reduction of production without stopping the supply of air into a blast furnace by a method in which a refractory material is uniformly sprayed from the tip of a spraying nozzle pierced through an air supply branch pipe onto the inside of the tuyere of the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:By operating a motor spraying pump 8, mortar inside a tank 7 is sent under pressure to a spraying nozzle 6 through a hose 9 and then sprayed from the tip 6' of the spraying nozzle 6 onto the inside of a tuyere 1 in such a way as to uniformly adhere 5 the mortar to the inside of the tuyere, while turning the nozzle 6, where the moisture of the mortar adhered is instantaneously vaporized for drying by means of air of 1,000-1,200 deg.C. Also, when the adhered refractory material is removed and the diameter of the tuyere 1 is expanded, the adhered refractory material can be easily removed by removing the nozzle 6 and inserting a bar into a peep hole 4 for stabbing. |
