<p>The equipment recovers heat from hot waste air or gases in a conduit or chimney, and comprises a heat-exchanger between top and bottom boxes with outlet and inlet respectively. The heat-exchanger is of flat or finned tubes at right angles to the air or gas flow direction, the cross-section of which is a multiple of that of the inlet or outlet openings. The bottom box (1) is square or rectangular and contains a number of transverse distribution bars (8,9) for the gas, in different parallel planes, the free flow cross-section being the same as in the heat exchanger. The shape of the bars and the intervals between them are such as to distribute the gas with an even and reduced flow rate over the entire surface area of the heat-exchanger.</p> |
