PURPOSE:To improve the leak-proof of a battery by coating a cationic sealing agent such as asphalt or rubber latex on the surface of a sealing material. CONSTITUTION:A cationic aqueous emulsion of asphalt which contains both brown and straight asphalt, or a rubber latex such as styrene-butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, or chloroprene rubber, or mixture of these rubbers are coated on the surface of a sealing material which is charged negatively with charge of the battery. Using said emulsion, cationically charged sealing agent particles are attracted and attached electrically on the negative charge of the sealing material, the adhesion is completed in an extremely short time, and the leak-proof characteristics can be improved. |
