The stability and resistance to discoloration of a pharmaceutical composition of 4-carbamoyl-imidazolium-5-oleate or a salt of hydrate thereof are improved by incorporating a sulfur compound capable of producing HSO3<->, SO3<2><-> or S2O5<2><-> ions, preferably together with L-cysteine hydrochloride. Also water solubility of the said pharmaceutical is improved by incorporation of a basic substance, preferably an organic amine such as L-arginine, to suit it for use in injection dosage form.
