PURPOSE:To provide a drawn and ironed can of considerably improved paint adhesiveness and corrosion resistance while maintaining the coating weight of tin extremely less than conventional cans by specifying the content of tin in the surface layers of a can body part and the exposed area ratios of the tin-iron alloy layers respectively and making the surfaces of the can bottom part consist of tin plated layers. CONSTITUTION:This drawn and ironed can body 1 is formed of a can barrel part 2 and a can bottom part 3, and the connected part 4 of both parts in made seamless. The part 2 is made less thick than the part 3. This can body 1 has surface layers contg. tins at 0.05-2.80g/m<2> as a whole, specifically 0.20-1.70g/m<2> on the outside surface and 0.01-1.70g/m<2> on the inside surface. The inside and outside surfaces of the part 3 are formed of tin plated layers 9, and tin-iron alloy layers 10 of >=20%, more particularly >=25% exposed area ratios are provided on the inside and outside surfaces of the part 2. As a result, while the total zinc weight existing in the surfaces of this can body 1 is kept at an extremely low level as compared to that of conventional ones, the tin-iron alloying is made easy without degrading workability and the paint adhesiveness and corrosion resistance of the can body 1 are markedly improved. |
