PURPOSE:To obtain a large discharge panel having high brightness and the stable discharge characteristic by forming the display section in the electrode located at the display face side with transparent conductive electrode while the other region with opaque conductive electrode thereby reducing the electrical resistance at the display face side. CONSTITUTION:An opaque linear electrode 4 composed of a metal film such as Cr, Cu where predetermined electrode is patterned through the print burning while employing the conductive paste such as Au, Ag is formed on one surface of a glass substrate 2 constituting the panel rear face. While the mixture of In2O3 and SnO2 is vacuum deposited on a substrate 1 at the display face to form a transparent conductive film layer while the opaque conductive film layer of Cu, Cr is continuously formed and patterned through the photoetching to form a linear electrode 8 arranged in parallel with desired small interval while at the same time the opaque layer in the display region of the electrode 8 is removed to form a transparent conductive film layer 8a. Consequently uniform discharge characteristic is achieved resulting in a large high brightness panel. |
