This spray drying apparatus is equipped with: a gas inlet (52) that is provided in a side wall (51b) in the vicinity of the top (lid) (51a) of the spray drying apparatus (50A), and introduces an exhaust gas (18) for drying a spray (33a) of filtrate (33); flow-adjusting panels (53) provided within the body of the spray drying apparatus to alter the flow of exhaust gas to a laminar flow (X) and decelerate the introduced exhaust gas (18); a spray nozzle (54) for spraying the filtrate (33) from the desulfurization waste water (30) into the exhaust gas (18) that has a laminar flow (X); and a joining means (80) for joining the bottom of the spray drying apparatus to the gas supply line (L3), i.e. the main flue for the exhaust gas (18), and eliminating spray-dried solids via the main flue.
