PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of thermal breakage and other troubles due to laser irradiation, by a method wherein a device, which detects a reflection light from an ejection end surface of a transmission fiber of a medical internal examination mirror with said ejection end surface acting as a reflection surface, is positioned in the proximity of the incident end surface of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical fixture 14 is secured to a bored part 13 in a chassis 12 of a medical internal examination mirror, and a cylindrical guide tube 15 slidably mates the cylindrical fixture 14. A small tubular slide tube 18 slidably matches the guide tube 15, an incident end surface of a fiber 10 is inserted into the slide tube 18, and a photo detector 7 is mounted in the proximity of an incident end surface. In case an ejection end surface 11 is broken by heat or a forward end breaks, a shutter control circuit 9 operates a shutter 4 into a closing state. This enables to prevent the occurrence of a trouble due to heat breakage and power laser irradiation. |
