An arrangement for the rough working, cutting and smoothing of structural elements formed in particular from stones and aggregates has along an endless conveying mechanism a first device for the rough working and cutting and a second device for the smoothing of the workpieces. The first device contains a row of cutting discs for the rough working which sit on a vertically adjustable shaft. At least one cutting device has a larger diameter than the rest and serves to cut the workpieces. A second device following the first device has a disc for smoothing the workpieces, which disc is rotatable about a perpendicular axis. A shaft carrying the disc is cooled on the outside and inside and carries a means of conveying lubricating oil to a top bearing. The discs of the devices are each covered by a protective hood with dust-extraction means.
