<p>Microprocessor reflected light monitoring equipment to determine the travel path of a bowl down a bowling alley according to the way it hits the alley after leaving the hand. The monitoring equipment (32,33) contains lamps (11,12,13) and reflectors (14,15,16) and is located either side of the alley (25) at the point where balls (21,24) land in order to progress towards the nine pins (1 to 9 at 10). Two of the lamp/reflector combinations (13,16 and 11,14) are placed at right angles across the alley (25) and parallel to each other. The third lamp/reflector unit (12,15) is inclined across the alley between the other two. The scanning effectively divides the alley into sections over which ball travel is measured and analysed.</p> |
