PURPOSE:To supply manuals to users easily by storing the manuals, which users require, in the storage device of a picture information storage and retrieval device as picture information. CONSTITUTION:When storage operation is set by an input equipment 2, a two- dimensional scanner 4 operates under the commands of a main control part 1, and an electric signal corresponding to picture information on a document 3 is oututted from the scanner 4 and then recorded as one-unit picture information by a magnetic tape device LVR7 together with index information. Consequently, the device stored with a manual for a using method, etc., in the form of the picture informaton is delivered. Then, the user side sets a tape on the device LVR7 and inputs 2 an index code 2. The device 2 detects pictures of the manual on the tape on the device LVR7 on the basis of the code 2, and the readout information is supplied to a recorder 5 through the main control part 1. Then, the picture information of the manual is read out of the device 5 successively. |
