摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for any interposed copper wire for an optical cable by utilizing a specific location of monitor information due to the code rule violation of code mark inversion (CMI) so as to send the supervising information as an optical signal through the optical fiber in sending the supervision information. CONSTITUTION:An optical transmitter 11 applies E/O conversion to major information 13 assigned by supervising information 14, 15 and the result is outputted to an optical relay transmitter 2. The transmitter 2 uses an optical receiver 22 to receive the information, which is subject to O/E conversion, and supervising information 25 is assigned to a position next to a special position on which the information 15 is assigned. The result is subject to E/O conversion by an optical transmitter 21 and relayed to an optical relay transmitter 3 via an optical fiber 6. The transmitter 3 assigns the supervising information 35 at a special position similarly, and applies E/O conversion thereto and relays it to an optical terminal station equipment 4. An optical receiver 42 receives it, applies O/E conversion and analyzes supervising information 14, 15, 25, 35 assigned to each special position with respect to the major information 13 according to a prescribed format. As a result, the information 14, 15, 25, 35 of the optical terminal station equipment 1 and the transmitters 2, 3 is sent to the equipment 4 through the optical fiber 6 only without employing any interposed copper wire.
