Injection moulding machine has several moulds - each with own injection unit but mounted in common mould plates

An injection moulding machine is intended for simultaneously producing two or more injection mouldings. The machine comprises a fixed mould plate (2) and a movable mould plate (3); each of these has recesses for accommodating fixed and moving half- moulds (13,14) so that a number of separate moulds, typically four, are contained within the fixed and moving mould plates. Each of these moulds has its own separate injection moulding machine, each of the moulds can be removed and replaced by different mould in the mould plates, and each is equipped with its own separate ejector mechanism (24,26), all the ejector mechanism being connected by rods (25) with the main ejector mechanism (7,8). Pref. also, guide pins (22) and sleeves (23) are provided for the two half-moulds (13,14) of each replaceable mould. With this arrangement replaceable moulds, each having a different internal form for different mouldings, are all operated in the same fixed and movable mould plates but each with its own separate injection moulding unit, so that entirely different mouldings, e.g. of different colours, can be simultaneously produced with one hydraulic mould closure mechanism.
