SHEAR-JOINTED ISOLATING SWITCH

A scissors-type h.v. circuit breaker consists of a drive unit mounted on a support. The scissors consist of upper and lower limbs linked to the drive unit. The limbs of the scissors are fitted with gripping contact piece supports. The drive shafts (9) of the lower scissors members (10) are hollow. The upper scissors members and cross member are fitted with hollow drive shafts. The shafts contain flexible power transmission conductors linked to the bearing plate.
