PURPOSE:To obtain an invariably constant fine spot of laser beam by interposing a single-mode optical fiber between a semiconductor laser diode and an optical condensation system. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam emitted by a semiconductor laser diode 1 is made incident to one terminal of a single-mode optical fiber 4 and laser beam emitted from the other terminal is guides to an optical condensation sytem consisting of lenses 2a and 2b to be converged into fine spot light. The laser beam propagating through the optical fiber has constant NFP and beam spread determined by its diameter and NA, and consequently the anisotropy of the laser beam that the semiconductor laser diode generates is eliminated. |
