The invention relates to the connection between the transmission mechanism of an electrical starter for internal combustion engines and an actuating lever. The connection between the actuating lever (12) of the starter mechanism and the sleeve (1) provided with grooves comprises on the one hand a tubular bushing (7), which is provided with a flange (8) which is clamp-jointed to the housing (6) of the drive (2) (free wheel mechanism) acting in one direction, and on the other a connecting torus (11), which grips around the bushing (7) and is fixed on it by a ring (10), which is pressed onto the end of the bushing. The connecting torus (11) is composed of two elements (13) which are assembled by means of a cam (16) which engages in a cam guide (17) which is formed in a block (18) which is fixed to the circumference of each element. The connecting torus is provided with two windows (19), which permit the passage of the fork of the lever (12). <IMAGE>
