PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having high contrast and high resolution, by laminating a specific basic substance-generating layer, an interlayer, and a color- developing layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A 1-20mum thick basic substance layer 2 consisting of a Co(III) ammine complex or Co(III) amine complex, a redox couple of a multinuclear quinone and a hydrogen donor, a chelating agent having small absorption in the visible light when coordinated around Co, and a merocyanine dye; a 1-10mum thick interlayer 3 consisting of a water-soluble or emulsifiable resin; and a 1-20mum thick color-developing layer 4 made of hexaarylbiimidazole serving as a photooxidizing agent against leucoaminotriarylmethane on a absorbing ultraviolet rays are successively laminated on a substrate 1. This recording material is fixed by irradiation of the visible light and heating, develops color on irradiation of ultraviolet rays, and a good image is thus obtained. |
