PURPOSE:To obtain a high density recording head which is small in a record demagnetizing effect and also is capable of forming efficiently a magnetic field having a steep magnetic field incline, by constituting a magnetic path of a working gap of a soft magnetic film having a high saturated magnetic flux density, and exposing this film on the tape sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:Two core blocks are prepared by sticking ferrtie cores 17, 17' having high magnetic permeability, and nonmagnetic substances 20, 20' through adhering glass layers 24, 24'. This core block is stepped 25 for a soft magnetic film, soft magnetic films 18, 18' are formed by means of sputtering, and the spherical polishing work is executed so that the surface of the cores 17, 17' and the surface of the soft magnetic films 18, 18' can form the same surface. Subsequently, on the working gap forming part on the surface of the soft magnetic film 18', a nonmagnetic film 26 which becomes a gap spacer is formed by means of sputtering, and on the rear end part of one of the cores 17, 17', a notch 27 is provided. On the notch 27 and the rear end part of the working gap forming part, bonding glass 28 is placed and is made to adhere by heat treatment. After that, working of a tape sliding surface 21 is executed, and also working of width of a track is executed. |
