PURPOSE:To work the lapping surface exactly with high accuracy and with high effficiency, by making a lapping tape slide-contact with a magnetic head which is rotated centering around the center of curvature of the lapping surface, shifting it, and making it execute a reciprocating motion. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 1 is held by a holding cylinder 5, and is rotated counterclockwise centering around the center of curvature of a lapping surface 2. As for a lapping tape which has been wound round a feed reel 20, a right and left sliding table 13 is moved to the left through a cylinder 14, and is made to slide-contact with the head 1 through a pressure plate 18 by a fine adjustment nut 16. Also, the tape 3 is held between an idle roller 21 and a driving roller 22, is shifted downward, and also is made to execute a reciprocating motion up and down by synchronizing with the head 1 by an up and down sliding table 12 and a bell crank 27 which is freely rockable. In this way, the lapping surface 2 and the tape 3 are not made to contact with each other at the same position, the slide-contact of several times is removed, and the lapping work is executed exactly with high accuracy and with high efficiency. |
