PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of an apparatus in which the vibrations of a piezo-electric oscillator are propagated via a pressure chamber to a diaphragm to jet ink droplets, by using unnecessary ink droplets having small diameters that will be produced when a signal applied to the piezo-electric oscillator is a sine wave signal. CONSTITUTION:In the apparatus in which the vibrations of the piezo-electric oscillator 1 are propagated via the pressure chamber 2, wherein a propagation medium 5 is filled, to the diaphragm 4 provided on a small diameter 3 side to jet ink droplets, when a wave from (a) is applied to the piezo-electric oscillator 1, according to its polarity a wave form having an amplitude as shown in wave form (b) or wave form (c) is obtained. In the case of wave form (b), ink droplets 10, 10' shown in (a) are jetted, and in the case of (c), ink droplets 10', 10, 10'' are jetted. The diameter ink droplets 10 in the case of wave form (c) is the smallest, and when this is used for printing, the resolution can be improved. |
