PURPOSE:To provide a proper pressing force of a grinding wheel by swinging a brake lever to lock an intermediate bed and a grinding wheel bed and then retreating the grinding wheel bed by a slight amount when the grinding wheel of a grinder for woodworking cutter is located. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate bed 13 is coupled with a grinding wheel bed 17 through an elastic member 28 so that the intermediate bed is driven forward and backward by a feeder in the direction of a cutter to be ground. When the grinding wheel engages the cutter to stop the grinding wheel bed and produce relative displacement between the grinding wheel and intermediate beds 17, 13, said displacement is detected to operate a solenoid 57 so that a brake lever 46 is swung by a plunger 58 and a lining rubber 43 is pressed against the side of the intermediate bed to lock both beds mutually. Then, the grinding wheel bed 17 is retreated by a slight amount relative to the intermediate bed 13 with the swinging movement of the brake lever 46 and the pressing force of the grinding wheel is maintained at a proper value. |
