In a mounting head for a camera or like device mounted on a frame 5, 6 for pivotal movement about an axis X has a housing 2 secured to a base 1 and the housing 2 has a cylindrical chamber 11 coaxial with the axis X and within which is coaxially mounted a shaft 3 rotatable with and carrying the frame 5, 6. Extending radially inwardly of the chamber 11 and secured with the assembly 2 is a wall 21 which partitions the chamber between the shaft 3 and the cylindrical wall 8 of the chamber. Located in the partition wall 21 is a restrictor 37 rotatable by a lever 43 which communicates through passages 40 with the chamber 11 on each side of the wall 21. Mounted for rotation with the shaft 3 is a further partition wall 26 within the chamber 11. The chamber 11 contains viscous liquid and upon pivotal movement of the frame 5, 6 to rotate the shaft 3, the partition wall 26 is displaced angularly to displace viscous liquid from the chamber 11 through the passages 40 by way of the restrictor 37 so that the resistance to fluid flow through the passages 40 can be varied to control the resistance to angular displacement of the partition wall 26 and thereby the "feel" of the head. <IMAGE> |
