PURPOSE:To eliminate the influence that the heat from a temp. radiation type light source gives upon plastic fibers as far as possible by binding a light transmittable material of a m.p. higher than that of the material forming a plastic fiber bundle to the front end part of said fiber bundle. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber bundle 1 as a light transmittable member is covered by a protecting member 2. Similarly a plastic fiber bundle 3 is also covered by a protecting member 4. A coupling member 20 is fitted to the right end part of the member 2 and a coupling member 40 to the left end part of the member 4, respectively. A position setting cell 50 is held accurately fitted in the socket and spigot parts formed in the opposite end parts of the members 20, 40, and in this state the members 2 and 4 are coupled integrally. Further, set screws 20B, 40B are screwed onto the members 20 and 40 from their circumferential parts so that the members 20 and 40 are prevented from turning with respect to the members 2 and 4. In this way, the trailing end of the fiber bundle 1 is optically coupled to the leading end part of the fiber bundle 3. |
