Other components of the composition include (a) further compounds A; (b) other p,p1-substituted phenyl benzoate; (c) resistance reducing additives for dynamic scattering, e.g. dodecylisoquinolinium bromide or 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene; (d) cholesteric compounds for a memory scattering effect; (e) coloured additives such as methyl red, indophenol blue; (f) gallic acid n-dodecyl ester, to reduce light scattering with zero applied electric field, to lower the required operating voltage and to prolong the life of the composition; (g) additives for modifying the speed of electro-optical response, such as paminophenol, hydroquinone and p-nitrophenol.
