PURPOSE:To obtain excellent image quality free from side pincushion distortion and misconversion over the whole area of a picture by a method wherein a magnetic substance is attached to the front end of one of the horizontally deflecting coils and either of the horizontally deflecting coils is allowed to have a different inductance value. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic piece 22 made of ferromagnetic material such as permally is attached to the front side of a deflecting yoke proper 11 at the position corresponding to the top of the front crossover line 12b1 of a horizontally deflecting coil 12b set at a lower position between a pair of horizontally deflecting coils 12a, 12b. With the movement of the magnetic piece 22, the inductance value of the lower coil 12b to which the magnetic piece 22 has been attached, out of a pair of horizontally deflecting coils 12a, 12b, becomes larger than that of the upper coil 12a as the magnetic piece approaches. It is thus possible to readily make correction with a simple construction and obtain excellent image quality without side pincushion distortion and misconversion over the whole area of a picture. |
