PURPOSE:To obtain an Al base composite material which is not inferior to foamed Al and excellent in light wt. and shock absorbing property by dispersing pumice in Al or an Al alloy. CONSTITUTION:In a metal mold 3, pumice 2 with an average particle size of 1- 10mm. is filled and, after preheated therein, molten Al or a molten Al alloy 4 is permeated into said metal mold 3 under pressure and solidified therein. Said pressurizing force is pref. 50-100kg/cm<2>. Because thus obtained Al base composite material has a structure filled with pumice 2 with low specific gravity, total specific gravity of said composite material is 1.8-2.1. |
