PURPOSE:To form a recording medium for vertical magnetization with excellent property of orientation in a highly efficient way, by making use of a recording medium layer obtained by having the epitaxial growth on a single crystal substrate. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium layer 3 is formed in the epitaxial growth on a single crystal substrate 4 by the high-frequency sputtering process, and a ''Permalloy '' layer 2 and a support film 1 are formed on the layer 3. After this, the substrate 4 is exfoliated away from the layer 3. Thus a recording medium for vertical magnetization is obtained with the layer 3 formed on the film 1 via the film 2. The substrate 4 using the NaCl single crystal can be dissolved in the water for exfoliation; while the substrate 4 using the sapphire single crystal can be exfoliated in the liquid nitrogen. |
