An essentially dry, flexible, non-wrinkled, stabilised, semipermeable polyether-polycarbonate block copolymer hemodialysis membrane containing a water-soluble polyol and with the ability to be usable after being re- moistened with water in a hemodialysis apparatus as a means preferably for removal of molecules having medium molecular mass from blood, said polyether-polycarbonate block copolymer containing 5 to 35 weight-percent repeated alkylene ether carbonate units and from 95 to approximately 65 weight-percent repeated bisphenol A- carbonate units, said membrane is manufactured by letting the water-wet membrane absorb a solution of the polyol in water or a volatile lower alkanol and remove the water or the lower alkanol, whereby the pores or cavities in the membrane have substantially been filled with the polyol.
