PURPOSE:To offer a vertical magnetization recording head by eliminating the influence of other bits written on a medium upon a main magnetic pole and by preventing magnetic flux from a bit to be read from reaching surrounding bits. CONSTITUTION:On ferrite 6 perpendicular to a vertical recording medium 5 having anisotropy at right angles to the film surface, a permalloy film 7 is provided at right angles and winding 8 having a relatively large radius is provided close to the surface of the ferrite 6. To the surface of a head opposing to the medium 5, a shielding magnetic layer tapered except a main magnetic pole 7 surface, e.g. a permalloy film 9 is stuck. Since bits other than a bit (a) to be read are covered with the shielding permalloy 9, magnetic flux from the bit (a) is sucked sufficiently by the permalloy film 7 of the main magnetic pole and never reaches the surrounding bits, so that reading efficiency increases. |
