The apparatus consists of a unitary assembly with means for extruding the filaments into a coagulating bath, stretching the filaments helically advancing them through successive treatment and/or washing zone axially arranged on a drum and drying and winding them. The assembly is enclosed in housing which completely protects the operators from the gases and vaports emitted during the process.
